Outlook date and time shortcuts

Outlook has a variety of keyboard shortcuts for date and time entry and display. Here are some useful ones:

Rapidly change the Calendar to the Month view by typing Alt+=.

Rapidly change the Calendar to the Week view by typing Alt+-.

Use Alt+number to change the number of days in the Calendar view. You can use 0-9 as the number. Zero displays 10 days.

Change an appointment to an all-day event by dragging the appointment to the day heading In the Calendar Day view.

Show Saturday and Sunday as full columns in the Week view by right clicking in the Calendar and selecting Other Settings... from the context menu. Clear the checkbox next to Compress weekend days.

Use typing shortcuts to enter date or time info:

  • today for today
  • d to increment by one day
  • w to increment by 7 days
  • mo or n mo to increment a month or by a number (n) of months
  • n m to increment by minutes
    (10 m will increment by 10 minutes)
  • n h to increment hours
  • a to signify AM
  • p to signify PM

Skip typing colons, use a period or nothing. Typing "215p" automatically becomes 2:15 pm.
