Microsoft Office – Compatibility pack for Office 2007 file formats

If are using a version of Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office XP you should consider downloading and installing the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats. It allows you to both read and write the new Office 2007 file formats from your current version of Office. These new formats are more secure and generally create smaller files than the older Office file formats.

Please read both the overview and system requirements on the download page before installing the compatibility pack.

If you are using an older version of Office, 2000 or earlier, you are out of luck.
