Microsoft Excel - Print a list of named ranges

Microsoft Excel provides an easy way to document the named ranges in a worksheet. Here is how to do it:

Excel 2003 and earlier versions

  1. Insert a blank worksheet into the workbook and select that sheet.
  2. Position your cursor where you want the names pasted.
  3. Select Insert - Name - Paste...
  4. The Paste Name window opens.
  5. Click on the Paste List button and you are done.

Excel 2007

  1. Insert a blank worksheet into the workbook and select that sheet.
  2. Position your cursor where you want the names pasted.
  3. Select the Formulas tab on the Ribbon.
  4. Click on the Use in Formula item. A drop down list opens.
  5. Select Paste Names... item at the bottom of the list.
  6. The Paste Name window opens.
  7. Click on the Paste List button and you are done.
